Woo hoo!
After nearly two years of development, Avego Shared Transport is now available to the public!
(We have only been developing the iPhone application for the last 5 months, but there is a lot we had to do behind the scenes, on the server software, web software, etc., before that).
Last night at 10pm, the iPhone App Store approved the Avego application for distribution. You can download it now here.

Already the number of “shared seats available” has skyrocketed to 705, in less than 24 hours. (These are the number of seats that drivers have indicated they are willing to share with other commuters). It will take a while for this to be a truly substantial number, but for the next year or three, the interesting thing is the rate of change from quarter to quarter, not the absolute number.
I am so fricken’ excited, I can hardly contain myself!
