We’ve already got plenty of ‘sticks’ to beat speeding motorists with in the form of fines, points on licences, and prosecutions. Soon, through applying location & timing technology, we might have ‘carrots’ too in the form of a reward scheme for people who drive at appropriate speeds.
A European project is examining the use of intelligent speed adaptation (ISA) technology to produce a new product that will reward safe drivers.
