On January 31, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced the fourth round of TIGER grants.
$500 million in discretionary grants are available for high-impact transportation projects including highways, bridges, rail, transit, ports, bicycle trails and pedestrian paths.
The previous three rounds of the TIGER program provided $2.6 billion to 172 projects in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
Organizations interested in implementing Avego real-time ridesharing, transit and vanpooling projects should consider incorporating these programs into their region’s TIGER grant application.
Eligible recipients include states, cities, Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs), local and tribal governments, as well as multi-jurisdiction and multi-state partnerships. Grants may not be less than $10 million ($1 million for rural areas) and the maximum grant size is $200 million. A 20% non-Federal match is required.
Pre-applications are due February 20, and the final deadline for applications is March 19.
