Slugging – is it because it moves slowly or like a bullet?… The truth is, neither!
The term slugging doesn’t have anything to do with a slimy garden vegetable eating fiend or a shiny metal bullet, rather it came from bus drivers. Back in the days of the depression when every last part of a penny counted, bus drivers had to figure out if people queuing at the stop were real passengers or sluggers.
