One thing’s for sure, when we put our minds to something, great things happen.
Last Thursday, as details broke of the failed negotiations between unions representing BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) staff and the organisation itself, everyone at Avego came together to decide how we could help the 400,000 affected commuters in the Bay Area. The result was an awareness campaign, the likes of which we have never seen. In just 36 hours, the team launched BARTstrike.com – a website to help those affected by the disruption, printed 10,000 handout cards, secured press mentions, TV slots and radio comments, and had a physical presence at 7 busy BART stations on Friday.
Needless to say, this took a LOT of work. Looking around the office now, everyone is bleary-eyed and hunched over their laptops. The smell of pizza is still hanging in the air from this afternoon’s power-lunch. But it was worth it. The atmosphere is still electric – enough to give you goosebumps. Every few minutes, someone shouts out about another broken record, another successful ride-share, another happy user.
Avego is committed to helping the people of San Francisco and the wider Bay Area get to where they need to be. Find more information and set up your schedule over at BARTstrike.com
