For our December campaign in Bergen, we set the local Carmapooling community a challenge: complete 500 trips within 5 weeks and we would give a €500 gift to the Children’s section of Haukeland Hosptial. The good news is, they didn’t need five weeks to reach the goal – they smashed it in style after just four weeks! Here’s what they achieved:

[li-row]4770 miles shared[/li-row]

We were delighted to be able to use the €500 to donate an iPad to the Children’s section of Haukeland during Christmas week. It had been on the hospital’s wish-list for a long time so that kids and parents alike could use it during their time there.
This challenge surfaced the wonderful community spirit of the Bergen community and the concept of “I will if you will”. People were moved and motivated by the chance to do something good for children and their local environment. In short, it struck an emotional cord with them. It was with great pride and satisfaction that Carma and the dedicated staff from Aibel, Aker Solutions, Avinor, BKK, Hansa Borg, Odfjell Drilling, OWEC Tower and Reinertsen reached this milestone together.
On top of having an overall feel-good community goal, each week we handed out lots of prizes to active Carmapoolers who took part. We gave out gift cards for Spotify, Netflix, Amazon and vouchers for local stores. The individual winner (by a mile) was Marco Amengual after he shared 106 trips with 6 different people. We hope he enjoys his prize of 2 nights plus dinner at Solstrand Hotel & Bad courtesy of Team Carma!
We’re really looking forward to our New Year campaign in Bergen and exploring more corporate social responsibility opportunities for the good of the community.
