Ireland-based Mapflow, which is working on a ride-share system dubbed Avego that pairs drivers with riders along their intended route at the actual time they are traveling.  The system, which is in alpha testing, taps into the GPS features built into many cell phones to determine where drivers are, what potential riders are in their area and to alert drivers where to stop to pick up riders.

It notifies each party via text message and includes a payment system through which passengers can help pay for the gas.
