Avego has received the award as Ireland’s Best Local Business for 2012 as part of the Local Authority Members Association (LAMA) annual awards ceremony.
Avego is a global company providing “revolutionary mobility” software and hardware systems with its home office in Kinsale, Ireland and other locations throughout China, the United States, and Ireland. Between Real-Time Ridesharing, Vanpooling and Futurefleet products, Avego employs 62 people globally, with 38 of those in Ireland.
Cllr. Tim Lombard, Mayor of County Cork presented Sean O’Sullivan, Managing Director of Avego with the award at the event at Avego HQ in Kinsale, Co. Cork. “We’re delighted and honored to be recognized by LAMA for this award,” said O’Sullivan. “Every Avego office operates strongly within their community, and the fantastic resources that Kinsale provides fit well with our global mission. Links with the Kinsale Arts Festival, local schools and the town council are among the ways that everyone benefits.”
“Avego employs about 30 staff here, and we have immediate openings for another 8 software superstars right now. We like to bring visitors to the town, and we bring dozens of guests from China, the US and Europe to our Irish offices every month. Just last week we hosted a two day annual meeting for 40 staff in a local hotel, and local tour guides, taxis, night clubs, florists, caterers and office suppliers were all involved.”
