Avego ticketing solutions expand to new bus operators in Ireland
Ok, we know we’re overdoing it a little (or maybe a lot) with frequent LEAP puns, but this program just lends itself to it – and not only because of the name. The LEAP card program has launched the first integrated touch-card payment system for commercial bus and public transit operators in Ireland – and we’re excited!
Earlier this year, we introduced you to the LEAP system and the first limited rollout to the commercial bus operator Matthews Coaches . Just a few short months later, Avego is powering on in LEAPS and bounds (sorry!) and has introduced additional features and expanded to a second bus operator.
Matthews Coaches and the newest addition to the Irish high-tech bus community, Wexford Bus , have recently been upgraded to the newest version of Avego technology which enables both e-purse and cash transactions to be carried out through one Mobile Data Terminal (MDT) on board the bus.
After years of searching for pennies at the bottom of our pockets, we’re all working around the clock to ensure Ireland can play with the big boys internationally when it comes to multi-modal integrated smart card ticketing systems.
It’s definitely a LEAP in the right direction…
