While the Thanksgiving meal may be behind us, our thankfulness is living on because of something amazing our Carma Austin members made possible!
Last month we pledged to donate $1 to Meals on Wheels and More for every Carma carpool trip taken during November. The idea stemmed from the idea that all good deeds come full circle. Carma members take action every day for the good of the community by carpooling, and we wanted to match those actions by helping feed local residents in need through Meals on Wheels and More.
We are pleased to announce that we had a total of 1,036 carpool trips taken in November, and therefore Carma has made a donation of $1,036 to Meals on Wheels and More on behalf of our members’ efforts!
This donation will help fund over 400 lunches for homebound residents in Williamson and Travis County over the coming month. A huge THANK YOU to our Carma members for making this possible!
Meals on Wheels and More relies on its volunteers and donations to accomplish amazing things in our community. The non-profit organization provides hot, nutritious lunches to older, homebound adults, in addition to other life-enabling services. Their program wouldn’t be possible without the 250 daily volunteers who deliver meals in Central Texas, primarily Travis and Williamson Counties.
Meals on Wheels and More will have more than 120,000 meals to deliver between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and 700,000 meals throughout the year. To learn how you can help them even more this holiday or year-round, visit www.mealsonwheelsandmore.org.
